Por ordem superior se torna público o texto do Acordo Complementar ao Acordo para Aplicação da Convenção sobre Segurança Social entre o Governo do Reino Unido da Grã-Bretanha e Irlanda do Norte e o Governo de Portugal, assinado em Lisboa, a 20 de Maio de 1988, na versão em português, e em Newcastle, a 16 de Junho de 1988, na versão em inglês, pelas autoridades competentes de ambas as Partes Contratantes, nos termos do disposto no parágrafo 1 do artigo 28.º da Convenção sobre Segurança Social celebrada pelos dois Governos em 15 de Novembro de 1978.

O presente Acordo altera o Acordo Administrativo de 31 de Dezembro de 1981 (publicado no Diário da República, 1.ª série, n.º 223, de 25 de Setembro de 1982), dando aplicação ao Acordo por troca de notas entre os dois Governos que complementou a Convenção de Segurança Social atrás referida (publicado no Diário da República, 1.ª série, n.º 244, de 23 de Outubro de 1987).

Acordo Complementar ao Acordo para Aplicação de Convenção sobre Segurança Social entre o Governo do Reino Unido da Grã-Bretanha e Irlanda do Norte e o Governo de Portugal.

De acordo com o disposto no parágrafo 1 do artigo 28.º da Convenção sobre Segurança Social entre o Governo do Reino Unido da Grã-Bretanha e Irlanda do Norte e o Governo de Portugal, as autoridades competentes de ambas as Partes Contratantes acordaram em alterar o Acordo de 31 de Dezembro de 1981 para aplicação desta Convenção do seguinte modo:

PARTE I
SECÇÃO 1
Para efeito do presente Acordo Complementar, «Acordo» significa o Acordo para Aplicação da Convenção sobre Segurança Social entre o Governo do Reino Unido da Grã-Bretanha e Irlanda do Norte e o Governo de Portugal, assinado em Londres a 15 de Novembro de 1978.

PARTE II
SECÇÃO 2
1 - Os artigos 21.º e 22.º do Acordo devem ser suprimidos e substituídos pelo seguinte:

Artigo 21.º
Nos casos a que seja aplicável o artigo 26.º da Convenção, a instituição competente de uma Parte enviará, a pedido, à instituição competente da outra Parte toda a informação necessária.

2 - Os artigos 23.º a 28.º do Acordo serão renumerados de 22.º a 27.º
PARTE III
SECÇÃO 3
O presente Acordo Complementar entrará em vigor na mesma data que a Convenção revista sobre Segurança Social entre o Governo do Reino Unido da Grã-Bretanha e Irlanda do Norte e o Governo de Portugal, assinada em Londres a 14 de Agosto de 1987.

Feito em Lisboa, a 20 de Maio de 1988, em quadruplicado, duas cópias em português e duas cópias em inglês, fazendo ambos os textos igualmente fé.

Supplementary Arrangement to the Arrangement for the Implementation of the Convention on Social Security between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of Portugal.

In accordance with the provisions of article 28 (1) of the Convention on Social Security between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of Portugal, the competent authorities of both Contracting Parties have agreed to amend the Arrangement of 31 December 1981 for the implementation of this Convention as follows:

PART I
SECTION 1
For the purpose of this Supplementary Arrangement, «Arrangement» means the Arrangement for the Implementation of the Convention on Social Security between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of Portugal, signed in London on 15 November 1978.

PART II
SECTION 2
1 - Articles 21 and 22 of the Arrangement shall be deleted and the following substituted:

Article 21
In any case to which article 26 of the Convention applies, the competent institution of one Party shall send, on request, to the competent institution of the other Party such information as may be necessary.

2 - Articles 23 to 28 of the Arrangement shall be renumbered 22 to 27.
PARTE III
SECTION 3
This Supplementary Arrangement shall enter into force at the same time as the revised Convention on Social Security between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of Portugal, signed at London on 14 de August 1987.

Made in Newcastle upon Tyne, on 16 June 1988, in quadruplicate, two copies in Portuguese and two copies in English, both texts being equally authoritative.
